Therapy Services

Clients come to me for help with a wide variety of concerns. At the core of it, you are experiencing persistent uncomfortable emotions, sets of thoughts, or habitual behavior patterns that upset you and get in the way of your life.

My core practice areas include treatment of mood difficulties, anxiety/panic/obsessive-compulsive symptoms, trauma-related symptoms; compulsive behaviors; working with adult survivors of childhood abuse and emotional neglect; the intersection of existential concerns and spirituality; and couples’ therapy.

I specialize in creating individualized, behavior-based interventions—nested within an authentic and connected therapeutic relationship. Broken down a little further: a plan to target symptom reduction (rooted in brain and behavioral science) helps to

  • Relieve acute distress

  • Confront memories and emotionally unfinished business

  • Change problem behaviors

  • Solve persistent problems, and

  • Increase comfortable and positive emotional experiences

And a warm, attuned, and collaborative relationship is both the vehicle for these direct interventions and a powerful source of experiential healing in and of itself. The therapeutic relationship offers opportunities to learn how to

  • Build interpersonal trust gradually

  • Show up to a relationship with authenticity and transparency

  • Do emotional intimacy, and

  • Lose gracefully (because, by definition, therapy is not forever)
